No Such Thing As Blorg

I just finished reading Kyle Gann's book No Such Thing as Silence about John Cage's 4'33". If you are interested in Cage I would suggest checking this out. Gann knows so much about Cage's history and the history of the abstract expressionist movement and he is able to write about music in a way that few musicologists or music historians can. The book is never dry, mostly it seems because he comes to the subject as a total nerd. He is fascinated by the subject and his writings are driven by his fascination. This really came through to me as a reader and offered insight and perspective into of Cage's aesthetics within his artistic time period. Ch Ch check it out!
